Recently, a job listing was discovered from within Bethesda Game Studios for an Associate Level Designer that has some telling terminology wrapped up inside it. This terminology suggests that the employee would be working on Elder Scrolls 6 and that the game would ultimately feature some kind of multiplayer mode or platform.
This has immediately sent fans into a spin, as the last Bethesda Game Studios took a single-player franchise and made it multiplayer, Fallout 76 was produced – and we all know how that turned out. However, through ZeniMax Online Studios, Elder Scrolls Online is a thing, which means that the franchise has already seen success in the multiplayer space.
But will Elder Scrolls 6 boast multiplayer in some way?
Don’t Get Worked Up Just Yet
It must be stressed that a job listing is by no means a confirmation of anything – it’s just a nod that suggests something could be happening. In the job listing, the giveaway phraseology goes:
- “You have a strong familiarity with a variety of open-world multiplayer games”
On its own, that doesn’t mean much, but then it’s paired up with:
- “You have experience with The Elder Scrolls Construction Set or GECK”
Combined, these two phrases give the impression that Elder Scrolls 6 will have multiplayer. There’s a mention of GECK, which is a creation kit more geared towards Fallout, but the chances of this being related to Fallout 5 are extremely slim.
It could also be a reference to Fallout 76, but then it makes no sense to mention The Elder Scrolls Construction Set. Ultimately, whoever gets the job will be working hard to ‘create high-quality open world level content,’ which’ll include the creation of storylines, quests, and the designing of the base map itself.
And at present, Elder Scrolls 6 is in development, so…
This could be nothing, or it could be a potential nod to multiplayer elements existing in some way in The Elder Scrolls 6, which is reportedly Bethesda Game Studios’ next title after Starfield, which is due to release in September.

I really hope no multiplayer comes to Elder Scrolls. It wont be done correctly and will also take away a lot from the single player experience. At this point games have fallen from grace enough.
