FromSoftware has released the story trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree ahead of the expansion’s release on June 21 for all available platforms.
The trailer, which you can watch below, gives a glimpse into the player’s journey as they head into the Land of Shadow at the behest of Empyrean Miquella.
“In these strange new lands, players discover the dark secrets of the world as they meet others who follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives,” the expansion’s description reads.
The expansion will add new weapons, weapon skills, equipment, and magic for players as well as a number of new enemies. As you explore the new area of the Land of Shadow, you’ll be able to “seamlessly travel back and forth” between there and the Lands Between.
When it releases on June 21, Shadow of the Erdtree will cost $39.99. Players will need the base game in order to play the expansion.
After Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring fans shouldn’t expect to see a second expansion for the game. FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki said in a recent interview that there wouldn’t be anything else released for Elden Ring. However, there is still the potential of a sequel somewhere down the line.
