EA Say EA FC 27 Won’t Have “Significant Gameplay Balance Changes” in First Updates

Every time a new EA FC game comes out, the game becomes a shadow of its former self within weeks. EA FC 27 is apparently going to be slightly different, with the developer claiming early Title Updates will have minimal impact on gameplay.

FC 26, 25, 24, and the list goes on. Whatever gameplay we get at the start of a new EA FC game, it ends up looking decidedly different within weeks as EA makes core changes through major title updates, and the game you paid for very quickly ends up being something completely opposite.

EA FC 27 Looking to Avoid Update Issue That Has Affected Recent Games

In a social media post, the EA SPORTS FC page made it clear that: ‘We don’t plan on making significant gameplay balance changes in our early Title Updates, giving players time to learn new mechanics, discover different ways to play, and allowing the gameplay experience to settle.’

Veteran players, I hear you…this is a familiar story, right? EA says it’ll do one thing, and then performs a complete 180. The EA FC 27 Closed Beta pitch notes dedicate a whole section to this bone of contention.

Again, EA says:

‘We’ve been closely following player conversations and know there’s feedback about significant gameplay balance changes being made after launch. For EA SPORTS FC 27, we want to take a measured approach and do not plan on making significant gameplay balance changes in our early Title Updates.

How the game is played and understood can evolve quickly during the opening weeks as players learn new mechanics, discover different ways to play, and build squads. Because of that, we don’t want to react quickly to early trends with significant balance changes. Instead, we’ll give the gameplay experience time to settle so we can better understand how the game develops and whether adjustments are needed.

Our intention is to preserve the gameplay experience we’ve built for launch and give players time to learn and adapt to it. We’ll continue listening closely to your feedback throughout that period, which you can share through the FC Feedback Hub.’

I still remember when soccer games launched, and the game you got at launch was the finished product, demanding that the developer ensure the game was as perfect as possible come release day. We could do with this ideology coming back!

There’s no point in guessing or arguing, as we’ll need to wait for early access to start and give the game a few weeks to see if EA lives up to its word.
