EA Sports FIFA Soccer is no more and in its place is EA Sports FC, a new franchise in soccer video games coming this fall.
EA Sports made the reveal on its website for the game, stating that more information will be coming in July.
“This is where the story of EA Sports FC begins. We’re building on 30 years of leadership and history creating experiences that bring the global football community together, and continuing to take it into a fan-first future,” Nick Wlodyka, SVP & GM, EA Sports FC, said via press release. “EA SPORTS FC will be a symbol for the sport, a symbol of innovation and change, and we’re energized to show our fans more about the future in July.”
Like past games, EA Sports FC will feature the Premier League, Bundesliga, MLS, NWSL, the UEFA Men’s and Women’s Champions League, and more. The game will include more than 19,000 fully licensed players, 700 teams, and 30 leagues. EA did recently add the NWSL into FIFA 23 as the start of a new partnership that is set to grow in the coming years.
The thing missing will be international events like the FIFA World Cup and other officially licensed FIFA events.
There have also been numerous rumors surrounding the game’s features and modes. One rumor circulating has been the inclusion of an online career mode. Insider Gaming has yet to independently confirm its existence as of writing.
