In a new post on X today, the Dying Light 2 team announced it will extend the Tower Raid Open Beta until August 1, 2024.
The Tower’s beta began on June 27, with plans to run until July 18, 2024. Today, the devs explained they want to “ensure everyone can load up on unique rewards.” They also invited even more feedback from the community to continue improving the raid.
In the Tower Raid Open Beta, players must climb several floors to reach the rooftop, surviving hordes of infected. Then, fans can earn rewards, and new items added to Jai’s inventory will continue to be available after the beta.
Some fans are concerned that this lengthy extension implies the development on DLC 2 is troubled. However, the devs may simply need more time to implement fan feedback into the Tower Raid, a mode the Dying Light 2 community requested.
The beta is available on all platforms, and players can try the Tower Raid with solo or co-op gameplay. Fans can access the raid by completing the Lost Armory side quest and using Jai’s Board.
Last March, Tymon Smektala of Techland said the “secret formula” to Dying Light 2’s ongoing success is “our unique relation with our community.” Dying Light 2015 also recently got a player count boost reaching over 300% following a major sale.
