In a new post on Twitter, the official Dragon’s Dogma 2 account announced that the next update will finally nerf dragonsplague, and fix a variety of Pawn issues.
The devs plan to reduce the “infection frequency of dragonsplague,” and make it easier to tell when Pawns are infected. Dragonsplague can be surprisingly ruinous, even though it’s currently difficult to detect. Although players have found workarounds like checking Pawns’ reactions to orders, clearer indications will be a massive improvement.
Capcom revealed that the new changes are coming this month, but today’s post did not confirm an exact release date. Instead, it simply says that “we will release them on each platform as soon as they are ready.” That will apply to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
In addition to the dragonsplague nerf, Capcom will also introduce a variety of Pawn improvements. The update will fix the Pawns’ dialogue behavior, as well as reducing how often they talk.
While this is technically a minor change, talkative Pawns can be quite the nuisance over time. Amusingly, the update will also make it harder for Pawns to fall off cliffs.
Naturally, there will also be various bug fixes. Alongside the dragonsplague and Pawn adjustments, the next update will definitely improve quality of life in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
However, fans are still waiting for an update to address the noticeable performance issues. Today’s post only mentions crashing and freezing fixes for “specific circumstances.” Hopefully, Capcom will address the technical side of things a bit more sometime soon.
Although Dragon’s Dogma 2 faced serious backlash over microtransactions, Capcom recently revealed the game has sold over 2 million units.
