The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is vast and, at night, proves far more dangerous. You’ll meet fewer bandits on the road at night but more monsters, like goblins and wolves. It’s a gamble. But if you’d prefer the light of day when traveling, you can always camp at one of the many fireplaces littering the landscape. Here is how to camp in Dragon’s Dogma 2!
How to Camp in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Spread across the game world, you’ll find campsites, unique locations where, if you have a Camping Kit, you can set up camp and rest your weary head. It’s a chance to restore your health and stamina without tracking down an inn, which you’ll typically only find in cities and settlements.
When you find one of the many campsites just off the main trails, walk up and interact with the firepit. If you have a Camping Kit in your inventory, you can rest until morning or alter your skills.
Alongside rest and recovery, setting up a camp in Dragon’s Dogma 2 provides an opportunity to relax and talk to your pawns. Many offer unique dialogue and some background lore to explore, and a few even have quests you’ll likely want to tackle.
While you can certainly progress through the whole game without ever using a campsite, it’s well worth stopping your adventure for a short while!

How to Get Camping Kits in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You can purchase a Modest Camping Kit from various vendors throughout the early game zones, especially in Vernworth. However, all the Camping Kits in my inventory were loot found in mines, dungeons, and chests scattered about the open world. I even scooped up one as loot from a goblin ambush. I don’t think goblins enjoy camping, but I’m not one to complain about free loot!
If you’d rather buy them, visit a merchant by all means. Just keep in mind that the Camping Kit is extremely heavy—7.00kg—so you’ll likely want to keep one or two in your party max and pass them out between the other pawns. It will weigh you down significantly!
