After a long period focused on Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss has finally shared an update on DokeV, its highly anticipated action game often compared to Pokémon and Palworld. The official status update was published in the Pearl Abyss 2Q 2026 Earnings Letter, where the publisher officially revealed plans to launch the game in the second half of 2028.
Financial Results and Crimson Desert Sales
Pearl Abyss confirmed that both DokeV and Plan 8 are currently in active development. The company stated that progress on DokeV is moving forward smoothly, largely thanks to the advanced technical capabilities and development experience gained while working on Crimson Desert.
Check out the company’s full statement regarding the project:
“Furthermore, two new titles, DokeV and Plan 8, are in active development. DokeV is currently targeting a release in the second half of 2028, and our reveal strategy is being aligned with this timeline. Leveraging the technological capabilities and development experience accumulated during the development of Crimson Desert, development is progressing smoothly. As the project advances, we are steadily expanding our development manpower to accelerate the pace of development.”
On the financial side, Pearl Abyss reported a sequential drop in revenue as the initial launch hype for Crimson Desert begins to cool down. Despite the dip, Crimson Desert managed to sell 2.11 million copies in Q2 2026—an impressive milestone for a single-player title months after its release. Meanwhile, the evergreen MMORPG Black Desert helped cushion the financial blow, outperforming expectations for the quarter thanks to a steady stream of major updates and fresh content.
