Capcom’s Devil May Cry helped pioneer the early-to-mid 00s hack ‘n’ slash genre, and while its fire had dwindled in recent years, the action-packed franchise could be returning soon with a DMC remake.
I would joke that Capcom loves a remake, but it does them really well, and the company has an unbelievable portfolio of games to modernize. Devil May Cry is easily one of Capcom’s most celebrated (and wacky) franchises, and following reports that the original Devil May Cry director wants to remake the first game, it appears a genie might have heard this wish.
Leaker Claims ‘You’re Getting’ Devil May Cry Remake

There’s a lot of ‘pinch of salt’ details to unpack here, so bear with me.
Firstly, the news comes from just your average leaker who has said:
‘Let’s be blunt about it. You’re getting a DMC1 Remake. Yes. just like those rumors said. Hearing it’s pretty far along actually but I’ll have to see for myself before making any release/trailer date bets.’
If it is real, then we might not be waiting years for it!
Interestingly, the account is followed by notorious Capcom leaker, Dusk Golem, and there’s a theory that this is a SEGA leaker, but one with a hit and miss record—meaning while this DMC remake rumour could be false, there’s also hope.
A subreddit thread also suggests it could be Midori (a leaker) under a new account name.

Again, this is one to file under ‘keep an eye on,’ but don’t get your hopes up just yet.
