After a year of updates on his YouTube channel, creator and developer reubs has completed his remake of The Simpsons Hit and Run from scratch.
Well, as far as he wanted to take it, that is.
We’ve covered the remake before, but now it’s time to look at everything that’s been done over his time building the game in Unreal Engine 5.
In his finale, he goes through the seven missions he’s recreated in the game. He also discussed some of the processes and the choices he made while building the modern version of the 20-year-old classic.
Unfortunately, this remake is unlikely to ever see a public release because of copyright and other concerns. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy what’s been done.
In fact, even a creator from the original game has gone on record in the past to commend the work being done by reubs.
“I’m the lead designer on the original game,” Joe McGinn, Senior Game Designer, Simpsons Hit and Run, said. “Amazing what you accomplished! Really gives a taste of what a full modern remaster could be. Impressive work!”
