If you have not tried any of Destiny 2’s DLCs yet, then this might be the perfect time, as all of them are free till July 22.
With Destiny 2’s Edge of Fate DLC arriving on July 15, 2025, the developers have planned something special for all players to celebrate the arrival of this new content. Interested players will be able to try out Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen, Lightfall and Final Shape Expansions for free between July 8 and July 22, 2025. It’s a smart move from Bungie, as it might help attract new players to the title ahead of their new DLC. Additionally, all gear earned will be retained after Open Access ends.
Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate DLC
For those wondering about Destiny 2’s Edge of Fate DLC, it will serve as the first chapter of a new saga, where Guardians will work towards solving the mysteries of the cosmos and The Nine. The latest addition will take players to Kepler, which has been described as “a planetoid shrouded by dark matter and plagued by a singularity.” Moreover, players can also look forward to new destination abilities, which are powered by The Nine.
Destiny 2 also has a Year of Prophecy Edition arriving on the same date. This edition will provide players with two campaigns, The Edge of Fate and Renegades. Year of Prophecy will also let players try out a new Raid and Dungeon, whereas The Edge of Fate only included the Raid. Interested players can check out all the game editions and their bonus content here.
In other news, Bungie reportedly considered a paid subscription model for Destiny and nearly blocked the inclusion of free cosmetics. Also, check out the Destiny 2 x Star Wars collaboration.
