Death Stranding 2 on PC raises the question of Denuvo, and an answer needs to be delivered. Denuvo and the concept of DRM aren’t thought fondly of in the PC community, so let’s check out if you have to worry about Denuvo with DS2.
Ah, Denuvo. The dastardly ‘D’ word that gives everyone who owns a PC the chills. It means well, but it isn’t swell if you want to enjoy a PC game to its full potential. Death Stranding 2 looks and plays phenomenally on PS5, and Denuvo wouldn’t be good if you’re on PC.
Is Denuvo Used in Death Stranding 2 PC?

Right now, it doesn’t seem like Death Stranding 2 uses any sort of DRM, including Denuvo.
You can breathe a sigh of relief. Looking at Steam, as well as a lack of updates from Kojima Productions, it seems as if Death Stranding 2 will not be protecting itself using any form of DRM. It goes without saying that this includes Denuvo, so if you were worried about DRM ruining the game’s performance or visuals, then it’s all good!

Denuvo is infamously known for protecting a game from piracy, but at the expense of the game’s performance and a myriad of other issues. It’s so obtrusive that people will simply not buy a PC port at all if it uses a DRM—with Denuvo being the main one.
Did Death Stranding 1 On PC Use Denuvo?
The original Death Stranding originally debuted on PC with Denuvo enabled, but the developer removed this some time after launch and cut loose any DRM ties to improve the game experience overall.
Death Stranding launched with Deunvo, but this decision was later reversed. Denuvo didn’t appear in DS1 again, nor did it feature in the Director’s Cut edition that was released a year or two later.
