Dead Space Movie In Development, According to John Carpenter

John Carpenter, legendary film director, may have inadvertently leaked the development of a Dead Space movie. In something that could almost be described as a throwaway comment in an interview, Carpenter made a statement that, if read the right way, directly suggests such a project exists.

Carpenter, whose works include the likes of The Fog, Halloween, and Escape From New York, is an Academy Award-winning director. He’d be perfectly placed to work on a film based on one of the most horrific franchises in gaming, but according to him, he certainly isn’t up to directing it.

But someone else is.

Is A Dead Space Movie On The Way?

Recently, there has been so much news regarding live-action adaptations of top-tier gaming franchises. We’ve covered so many of them that we may as well put together something of a quick repository for you:

The latest title to join the list of potential franchises being made into a movie is Dead Space, which is a concept that has been floating around for years. It’s the perfect setting for a horror movie, and according to John Carpenter, it’s in development as we speak.

In an interview with Variety, when asked if there’s any movement on Carpenter directing a possible Dead Space movie, the man himself said:

I’m not gonna do it. I think they already have another director involved. And they haven’t asked me to do it. So, until someone asks me, I wouldn’t do it. But there’s a new version of the Dead Space video game coming out in January, and I’m there

John Carpenter

So, John Carpenter, legendary director, plugged into the inner workings of Hollywood, believes that there’s a director involved with a Dead Space movie. It’s time to discuss taking something this with a pinch of salt, but if that statement is to be believed, it could mean that a grisly, gory horror film is on the horizon, and its name is Dead Space.

  • that is amazing, dead has been my favorite franchise ever since part 1 came out, part 2 being my favorite, I been hyped and then massively disappointed when a movie was talked about some years back, when a bioshock movie was also in development,
I truly pray it works out this time, I have dreamed of what a movie could be like, and if it is good and does well, I pray we finally get a 4th game to continue from that insane cliff hanger, or maybe motive will take the story in a different direction and just go from the end of the remake and do a brand new part 2, either one id be hyped for
