Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Revealed, Coming 2024

One of the best zombie apocalypse titles of all time is being remastered – Dead Rising. It was first released way back in 2006, with an HD remaster dropping in 2015. Now, in 2024, the ‘Deluxe Remaster’ is set to land on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC later this year. In a short teaser trailer posted today, Capcom showcased a brief snippet of the refreshed game that turned so many heads almost twenty years ago.

Dead Re-Rising

Dead Rising kicked off a series of open-world zombie apocalypse titles that would come to dominate the genre for almost two decades. With unparalleled levels of visceral, zombie-slaying action, bigger hordes than any other game, and more bizarre weapons than you could ever dream possible, the Dead Rising franchise has well and truly left its mark in the gaming history books.

The last Dead Rising game was released in 2016, and while it wasn’t as big a hit as previous games, it enjoyed its fifteen minutes of fame quite nicely. Since then, the series has gone quiet – aside from a few leaks concerning a cancelled Dead Rising 5 project over the last year or so.

Now, Capcom is prepping a little fan service by teasing Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster:

Fans were quick to note that it’s not the original voice actor playing Frank, which is a sticking point, but it should be easy enough to overlook when they’re charging around Willamette’s mall, cracking skulls with all kinds of inane weaponry and trying to beat the clock.

It wasn’t confirmed when Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is being released, only that it’s dropping this year.

  • This looks more like a remake? Need to see more footage. But where’s Power Stone the Capcom leak teased that a while back still nothing on that game. There’s been rumors of a Mega Man game for years now and still nothing. Then the rumor that Platinum is working with Capcom on a remake is this it?

  • Can they please do this for Viewtiful Joe, Mega Man Legends, Killer7, Under The Skin, Gotcha Force, Haunting Grounds, Maximo, Auto Modellista, and Power Stone.

  • They need to do this with Haunting Ground and obvious Dino Crisis. They should remake Darkstalkers like they did Ultra Street Fighter 2 also remake Street Fighter Third Strike, Mega Man Legends 1-2, Rival Schools, Onimusha, Breath Of Fire, Gotcha Force, and Power Stone.
