Dead by Daylight Developer Hit With Layoffs

Dead By Daylight Layoffs

Behaviour Interactive, the developer behind Dead by Daylight, is the latest studio to be hit by layoffs.

According to Kotaku, 45 employees have been let go by the studio. The layoffs span various departments at the company’s Montreal headquarters according to the initial report.

Recently, Behaviour Interactive announced the addition of Alan Wake to Dead by Daylight as a playable survivor. The studio also announced The Casting of Franke Stone, a new game in the Dead by Daylight universe being worked on by both Behaviour Interactive and Supermassive Games.

In 2023, over 10,000 people were laid off, making it one of the worst years for layoffs in the gaming industry. With the latest layoffs in the industry, numbers show that over 3,000 people have been let go from the industry in January alone. That currently puts the pace at 36,000 layoffs this year.

Insider Gaming has reached out to Behaviour Interactive for comment on the layoffs. As of publishing, however, no response has been received.
