Rockstar Games Co-Founder, Dan Houser, has filed for two new trademarks under his new game studio Absurd Ventures.
First spotted by GTA Forum user deadasdisco, the new two trademarks are for the names ‘AMERICAN CAPER’ and ‘A BETTER PARADISE. Both trademarks were filed on July 28, 2023.
Dan Houser left Rockstar Games in March 2020 for undisclosed reasons and later went on to found two new companies in February 2021; Absurd Ventures LLC and Absurd Ventures in Games LLC.
In mid-2023, Houser announced his involvement with Absurd Ventures, revealing that the company is “building narrative worlds, creating characters, and writing stories for a diverse variety of genres, without regard to medium, to be produced for live-action and animation; video games and other interactive content; books, graphic novels, and scripted podcasts.”
In an interview with Variety earlier this month, Chief Operating Offering of Absurd Ventures said, “We will have more announcements in the weeks ahead about projects that we’re already in pre-production and production on those IP universes.”
Since the interview, Absurd has yet to announce any news on its games, leading to speculation online that some form of announcement might be made at this year’s The Game Awards on December 7.
