Berkcan ‘ComeBack’ Şentürk is set to join NAVI’s Valorant roster as a stand-in, according to a report by Sheep Esports. The Duelist will reportedly take the place of Abdullah ‘ExiT’ Al-Twaijri, who cannot travel due to the disruption caused by the 2026 Iran War.
As a result, Herman ‘Kolosha’ Skrypka will return to the NAVI Junior academy roster, who stood in for ExiT in the opening two matches of VCT EMEA Stage 1.
ComeBack to stand-in for NAVI after abrupt Team Heretics benching
ComeBack was suddenly benched following a 2-0 loss, ironically to NAVI, in Team Heretic’s opening VCT EMEA Stage 1 match.
Team Heretics made a video explaining the decision, with their coach, Neil ‘neilzinho’ Finlay, explaining that they had a “fundamental disagreement after the NAVI game in how we see the game as a team.” The Heretics coach added, “He does not fit in this roster.”
ComeBack agreed with the assessment, stating that his playstyle and approach were “completely different” (translated) from the rest of the team.
The 18-year-old will now reportedly join NAVI as a stand-in after only one competitive match day away from the server. NAVI will next play Gentle Mates on April 15 in VCT EMEA Stage 1.
Is NAVI the right fit for ComeBack?
After a mismatch with Heretics, the question of whether his playstyle can match that of NAVI will be hanging over the heads of both the player and the organization.
ComeBack’s playstyle bias seemed more towards solo, explosive individual plays. While that’s natural for a Duelist, NAVI generally tend towards a more considered and slow style, a hallmark of Kyrylo ‘ANGE1’ Karasov teams.
Still, NAVI will still have the Turkish connection in the roster with Uğur ‘Ruxic’ Güç, Emirhan ‘hiro’ Kat, and Berkcan ”ComeBack’ Şentürk in the roster, the latter two being dual nationals of Turkey.
Combined with hiro and Ruxic’s almost telepathic connection, perhaps ComeBack can make use of that synergy, especially in the clutch when they are the only players alive and free to speak in the language.
Despite being announced on April 1, NAVI are yet to play with the full five of their new roster due to ExiT’s absence. The roster has been playing with NAVI Junior’s Kolosha.
The Ukrainian academy player had a tough debut in the team’s victory against Heretics, showing an improved face despite the loss to FUT in the second match of the split.
Yet that improvement was not enough, as the organization has clearly chosen to have more experience in the form of ComeBack despite potential issues.
