Folks are never slow on the uptake these days. From the moment the Coldplay ‘Kiss Cam’ scandal hit the front pages of social feeds worldwide, it was being replicated by brands and creators everywhere. Now, things have gone one step further, with the viral clip being turned into a small video game.
In case you’re unaware of what I’m referring to, I’ll set the backstory below.
Scandalous
During a recent Coldplay concert, a couple was highlighted on the ‘big screen’ in the arena. Their response wasn’t what you’d expect, as the pair released their embrace and dove out of sight, clutching their faces in shock and embarrassment. Coldplay’s Chris Martin suggested the pair were either ‘shy’ or ‘having an affair’.
Ironically, it was the latter.
It turns out the couple work for Astronomer, a billion-dollar tech company, and they were at the Coldplay concert as secret lovers. It gets even more hilarious when you learn that it was the CEO embracing his head of HR.
Enter Jonathan Mann, who performed a public service by utilizing AI to create a small game in less than 24 hours. The title of the game is Coldplay Canoodlers, and it’s a simple thing. It challenges players to use a camera to scour a pixel-art audience, picking out the Astronomer couple over and over again to rack up points.
i vibe coded a little game called Coldplay Canoodlers you’re the camera operator and you have to find the CEO and HR lady canoodling 10 points every time you find them 👇link
It’s not something you can go and download on Steam, but Coldplay Canoodlers isn’t that hard to access. It’s a great example of human ingenuity in the wake of someone else’s embarrassing faux pas.
