If you were curious about the Resident Evil 5 and 6 Remakes, recent claims suggest there are no plans to develop them at this time.
The Resident Evil remakes have once again become a hot topic following the announcement of the latest title, Resident Evil: Veronica. It was also recently claimed that this remake, along with the rumored Zero remake, could be connected to Resident Evil Requiem. However, there are currently no plans to remake some of the other titles in the series.
Seems Like There Are No Plans Currently to Remake Resident Evil 5 & 6
The latest claims about Resident Evil 5 & 6 Remake plans come from the known RE insider Dusk Golem. In a thread on ResetEra, the insider has claimed that Capcom has no clue what to do with the RE 5 & 6 remakes. “If they ever even decide to do them (right now they’re not committed to that at all), and they definitely aren’t making these remakes as some idea to restructure the whole series to Requiem,” stated the insider.

Dusk added that Capcom doesn’t have plans to lead up to Requiem with remakes, and that any plans for RE 5 and 6 remakes will only be made after the developer decides to proceed with them. The developers have no “master plan” in the works and don’t have long-term planning. The insider states that Capcom tends to think “5 years ahead at any time broadly and will reassess every few years where they should go with the franchise rather than planning some super long-term plan.”
The insider also explicitly stated, “There is no plan to remake RE5/RE6 right now, there isn’t some initiative to remake all the Resident Evil games specifically, and they aren’t thinking of tying this Remake line to Requiem specifically.”
