Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the upcoming instalment for first-person shooter franchise arrives on October 25, 2024. The pre-orders for the game are already live and one of the details on the Xbox store page for the game had made many players anxious.
The now-updated store page for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 stated that the game would take up more than 300 GB of storage space on the Xbox Series X/S, however, that does not seem to be the case anymore.
The official CODUpdates X account posted a clarification tweet today. The update states that the “estimate file size” for Black Ops 6 pre-order pages “does not represent the download size or disk footprint for Black Ops 6” (sigh of relief).
Moreover, they further clarified that the install size previously shown included full installations of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and all relevant content packs, including all localized languages combined, which is not representative of a typical player install experience”. – True.
Fortunately, players can download Black Ops 6 without downloading any other game or language packs. Also, the correct file size for the game will be revealed closer to the release date. Players are certainly happy about this clarification, as 300GB to play one game sounds like a nightmare.
Furthermore, a recent report states that Treyarch wasn’t aware of Black Ops 6 arriving on Game Pass until the very last moment. Additionally, the first beta for the game could be hosted between August 28 – September 3, according to a recent leak.
Aren’t you glad that we won’t have to download 300 GB worth of content to play Black Ops 6? Let us know in the comments.
