A reliable insider has confirmed that there are no Nintendo Switch ports planned for Black Ops 1 & 2.
After months of anticipation and numerous leaks and rumors, the long-awaited release day for the Black Ops 1 and 2 ports on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 has finally arrived. These versions are simply ports for the latest PlayStation consoles, not remasters or remakes. As a result, many are questioning why ports for the Nintendo Switch were not planned as well.
Black Ops 1 & 2 Ports Seemingly Not Arriving for Nintendo Switch
CharlieIntel recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) that there are currently no plans to release ports of Black Ops 1 and 2 for the Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, there are no new updates for Xbox or PC, meaning these games have only been released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Given the specifications of the Switch 2, it seems capable of running these games; however, there is no clarification on why a port for this console is not being considered.

The pricing for the games has been announced, and it is not very budget-friendly, given that these are simply ports of titles over 10 years old. Moreover, no additional content is included; all DLC packs must be purchased separately. Players will also miss out on features such as 120 FPS, an FOV slider, or any graphics updates. Many have noted that the games appear nearly identical to their original releases.
Nonetheless, this is an opportunity for players to finally experience these classics or revisit their memories on the latest PlayStation consoles. The ports have been developed in collaboration with Iron Galaxy and provide access to the first two games’ campaign, multiplayer, and zombies modes.
