Best Rated PlayStation Games of 2023

It has been a great year for video games and it’s not over yet. There have been excellent games released on a near-weekly basis and it has been one of the hardest years to keep up with the endless amount of games to play. It would be understandable if some games passed you by, but this list is here to let you know which games are the ones you need to check out. Here are the five best-rated PlayStation games of 2023.

5. Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 may be the best entry in the series since the classic games of the 90s. Following the lackluster release of Street Fighter 5, Capcom had to go all out with this game and they achieved what they set out to do. The mechanics are solid, it looks great, and it even has a story mode. If you’re looking for a fighting game to play in 2023, this is the one you should buy.

Street Fighter 6 scored 92% on Metacritic, with some calling it the best fighting game they’ve ever played.

4. Cocoon

It would be understandable if you have never heard of Cocoon, but you should change that as soon as possible. Cocoon is a rather unique take on puzzle adventure games, allowing you to take worlds and manipulate and combine them with other worlds in order to complete puzzles. It can take a while to get your head around the mechanic, but once you figure it out then you are in for a treat.

Cocoon scored 92% on Metacritic, with some critics calling the game “perfection.”

3. Tetris Effect: Connected

Tetris Effect: Connected takes the classic Tetris we know and love, and takes you on a wild trip as you play. It is an incredibly fun game to play, but it can start hurting your eyes after a while due to the screen being incredibly over-stimulating. There aren’t many ways to play Tetris these days outside of emulation and mobile devices, so if you want to play the most popular puzzle game in the world on modern hardware, this is pretty much your best option.

Tetris Effect: Connected scored 93% on Metacritic, with some critics calling it the best game on PSVR2.

2. Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 is remembered as one of the most important games of the 2000s, and Capcom has just improved upon it in almost every way with the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Capcom kept everything that made Resident Evil 4 great in the remake and removed some of the filler, creating a more condensed and engaging experience. If you want the full experience then check out the Separate Ways DLC, which may be the best $9.99 you ever spend and it includes some noticeably missing sections of the original game which pleased a lot of fans.

Resident Evil 4 scored 93% on Metacritic, with some critics calling it one of the finest video games ever created.

1. Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 has appeared in the number one spot on many of these lists, and for good reason. The game brings the Dungeons and Dragons formula to life in video game form in a similar gameplay style to games such as Diablo. If you like Diablo as well as Dungeons and Dragons, or if you have no experience with either and the combination piques your interest, check out Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3 scored 96% on Metacritic, with some calling it a once-in-a-generation game.
