Bend Studio seems to be moving forward with another multiplayer game for PlayStation.
In a recently discovered job posting (h/t tech4gamers), Bend Studios is hiring a creative director for a new project. What stands out is that the requirements specific request “experience with multiplayer game development and design.”
“We are seeking an experienced and visionary Creative Director to help lead a project currently in development,” the job posting says. “This role is responsible for driving the decisions that set the creative vision, quality bar, and emotional tone of the game. In this capacity, you will serve to keep the team informed, aligned, motivated, inspired, and engaged.”
There isn’t much else to go on with the job posting as the rest of it reads very generic. It features role responsibilities such as owning “the overall creative vision of the project” as well as leading the design leadership time and “aligning the creative vision to best support and enhance gameplay systems, mechanics, and player experience goals.”
In June, Bend let go roughly 30% of its staff after an in-development live service military shooter had been cancelled. The studio would confirm those layoffs, but wouldn’t give specific numbers.
Fast-forward just a few months, and it looks like the studio behind Days Gone, Syphon Filter, and Bubsy 3D are moving forward with another game that, hopefully, will see a release.

They don’t learn their lesson at Sony. They’re still moving forward with this initiative I hope people see it. Question is Santa Monica making a live service game? Sucker Punch as well? Curious.
