According to a new report, Battlefield Labs is testing 120fps support on the PS5 Pro and seems to be heading in the right direction.
The new information originates from a report by MP1ST, where a Battlefield playtester shared details about 120fps support on the PS5 Pro. However, no screenshots were added to the report to maintain the leaker’s anonymity.
The report tells us that when testing the upcoming Battlefield title on the PS5 Pro, the screen overlay revealed that it ran between 100 and 110fps, sometimes going as low as 80fps. Moreover, the framerate remained unfazed even with much destruction on the screen, maintaining a cool 100fps.
The Battlefield playtester also got a stable 120fps on the PS5 Pro in certain situations, such as during infantry combat. In rare cases, the framerate dropped to 80fps for a short period. The performance details were gathered from a monitor’s overlay, which changed its refresh rate based on the game’s framerate. However, it is unclear whether this feature will make it to the game’s final version. We will have to wait for an official confirmation from DICE to know for sure.
