Battlefield 6 Season 5 is Finally Adding a Server Browser and Platoons

Starting next week, countless Battlefield fans worldwide will sink their teeth into Battlefield 6’s Season 5 update, which is themed around a sequence called the Siege of Vegas and later, a Casino Heist. It’s an urban, North American escapade that promises to serve as one of the meatiest updates the game has had since it hit the market a year ago tomorrow.

The Season 5 update also introduces a critical mechanic that fans have been asking for since day one. It’s a staple of the Battlefield space that has been one of the most helpful features for years. That’s right; I’m talking about the SERVER BROWSER.

Battlefield 6 Finally Getting a Server Browser

When the Battlefield 6 Season 5 update lands on October 13, it’ll open the door to an all-new server browser built into the core multiplayer platform.

For those not in the know, the server browser is a mechanic that allows users to cherry-pick the servers they play on, tweaking the geography, game mode, map rotation, match fullness, and more. It also allows users to set up and manage their own servers with unique map rotations, which has always made for entertaining scenarios and, quite often, XP farms, and the like.

However, I say Season 5 will open the door for the mechanic, but I never said it’s coming through that door.

Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait until the Frozen Aces portion of the fifth season drops on December 8 to access the server browser. By that point, everyone will be neck-deep in Grand Theft Auto 6.

What’s more, that December 8 update will also introduce Platoons, another feature that really should have been in the game when it came out on October 10, 2025. Better late than never, right?
