The response to vehicles in Battlefield 6’s Open Beta was mixed. Some felt certain vehicles were too OP, whereas others felt they were underutilized. DICE lead producer David Sirland has given a big update on the future of vehicles in BF6.
Vehicles remain a core part of the Battlefield experience. The gunplay and on-foot action are the basis of Battlefield, and where most of the action predominantly takes place, but you’ll always have tanks driving past you, helicopters flying overhead, and people pretending to know how to fly planes.
If you have concerns about Battlefield 6‘s vehicles, don’t worry, so do the devs.
DICE is “Working On” Vehicles in Battlefield 6

DICE lead producer David Sirland got into an exchange on X, discussing Battlefield 6’s Open Class system. The debate moved onto the state of vehicles in Battlefield 6, and how infantry has too many anti-vehicle tools and weaponry.
User Battle(non)sense | Chris said: “There is a problem – we have way too much AntiTank and AntiAir firepower in the hands of infantry. Infantry is more dangerous to vehicles than vehicles are to infantry with helicopters at bottom of the food chain with next to no surviveablility.
Sirland replied:
That is a balance issue wholesale, not specific to this special situation however. And one we are actively working on. Rather have too weak vehicles over too powerful to start. Its a tricky one as players get better at using them over time as well.
DICE knows vehicles are “weak” right now. However, it’s good to see such a prominent figure in the game’s development come out and acknowledge the issue. Obviously, the team needs to finetune the adjustments, otherwise we end up in a situation where vehicles are too OP—which is arguably worse.
