Battlefield 6’s Class System has ‘Moved Beyond’ What We Saw in the Open Beta

Battlefield 6’s class system has changed a lot from what we saw in the open beta, with Assault and Support classes seeing significant changes.

The open beta weekends for Battlefield 6 were a huge success, attracting a record number of players across the two weekends. At the same time, the developers learned a great deal about the changes they could make to the title, thanks to all the feedback. One of the biggest changes that has been confirmed comes towards BF6’s Class System.

Battlefield 6’s Assault Class Will See “Reduced Efficiency in Some Areas”

During an interview with Edge magazine, Thomas Andersson, creative director at Ripple Effect, spoke about Battlefield 6’s class system. Andersson stated, “The class system has already moved beyond what’s in open beta”, confirming that players will see significant changes in this system the next time they play the game. It appears that major changes have been made to the game’s assault and support classes.

Regarding the changes made to Battlefield 6’s class system, Andersson spoke about the modifications to the Assault Class. The creative director stated that Assault Class players will observe “reduced efficiency in some areas”; however, it will improve from “a teamplay perspective”. The Assault player will now have the deploy beacon rather than Recon “to [reinforce] ‘this is the guy to spawn on.’

In other news, the developers have confirmed that Battlefield 6 features a console-only crossplay mode. Additionally, scam links for Battlefield 6’s battle royale playtests have surfaced on Reddit.
