Baldur’s Gate 3 might be game of the year for many people, but for the Xbox-centric community, it doesn’t even exist. It has had its time on PlayStation 5 and PC platforms, but it’s yet to make an appearance for those backing the green team.
However, thanks to a recent outburst on Twitter by Larian’s Director of Publishing, Michael Douse, it has been stressed once again that the Xbox release of Baldur’s Gate 3 is planned to take place before the end of the year.
What Do You Mean, Outburst?
It seems that all the drama surrounding the disparity between platforms for Baldur’s Gate 3 is getting to some of Larian Studios’ team members. It became apparent that Douse wasn’t enjoying the influx of users doubting the team’s expected release date for the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 when he lashed out a little on Twitter:
I can’t say for sure who he’s targeting with that ’33k twitter followers’ comment, but it’s not me – I barely have 200 followers.
At present, there’s no release date for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox – but there is a window, even if that window is rapidly closing. As we approach November, Larian Studios has just two months to announce, promote, and ultimately release the game on Xbox, which isn’t a lot of time. Given the game’s success thus far, it might be a case of it needing to market itself for Xbox users, based on what’s already online.
If that’s the case, Larian could release it tomorrow and it’d sell.
