KADES Studio has just unveiled an all-new gameplay trailer for AZUR, an upcoming PvP survivor FPS, during the Insider Gaming Showcase. AZUR is a fast-paced shooter with some incredible mechanics that keep the action flowing, with there being one core guarantee: you will die, it’s just a matter of when.
AZUR doesn’t have a firm release date, but it’s one of the most highly anticipated games to hit the Insider Gaming Showcase. It takes a mix of creative palettes, including inspiration from games like The Last of Us and Far Cry, and pulls them into a high-octane, high-stakes shooter.
What is AZUR?
AZUR is an all-new first-person shooter coming exclusively to Steam in 2027. It has been pieced together by KADES Studio, and it’ll be the team’s first game as a collective. This gorgeous shooter, which is rooted in a fictional Mediterranean setting, boasts sumptuous visuals and energetic combat mechanics, encouraging players to keep moving, keep fighting, and to survive for as long as possible.
In the words of the developer, AZUR ‘removes anything that slows the action’, stripping the survival genre of typical tropes, including crafting, inventory management, and routine processes. It’s all about hitting the ground running, securing loot as the game unravels, and racking up resources to go again once you’ve succumbed to the island of Belmas.
There’s a twist, of course. The island has been plagued by a mysterious infection, dubbed Cryovore. This has resulted in mutations taking over the environment, which adds a post-apocalyptic twist and a PvE element to the game.
Key Features
Unique Extraction Mechanic
In AZUR, you don’t extract yourself, but your loot. As you explore the island of Belmas, you’ll be prompted to summon helicopters and drones belonging to the powerful Black Drip faction, loading up your loot and getting it safely out of the game. The next time you hit the menu, you’ll see everything you’ve obtained.
Dynamic Mission System
AZUR unfolds dynamically with each new run. You’ll be prompted to participate in strategic missions, explore contaminated buildings, and push your way into high-value bunker locations with each new raid into Belmas. You’ll be invited to complete high-stakes missions with big rewards but huge risks.
In-Game Leaderboards
As each game of AZUR unravels, players will see how they place on a global leaderboard, giving instant satisfaction to the best players and motivation to those who are failing at their mission. It doesn’t matter what kind of player you are; there are ways to earn experience, grind time, and secure your spot on the leaderboard with each raid.

KADES Studio is a French team with a small size but massive ambition. It’s comprised of just two developers and four artists, all out with a dream to make the ultimate arcade FPS survival experience.
