XBOX CEO Asha Sharma has confirmed that no publicly announced first-party titles have been cancelled following the company’s latest string of layoffs.
A major Microsoft reset was announced on Monday, with XBOX selling off four studios in Compulsion Games, Double Fine Productions, Ninja Theory, and Undead Labs, while Arkane Studios is “beginning required consultation with its Works Council.”
While the XBOX layoffs, totalling 3200 throughout the 2027 Fiscal Year, have impacted the company significantly, crucially, no games that have already been publicly announced are being cancelled.
No Publicly Announced Games Cancelled by XBOX

In a lengthy statement posted on X, Sharma outlined the wholesale changes impacting XBOX, which is set for a major reset, but made it clear that no titles that have already been announced are being canned.
“None of our first-party publicly announced games or projects is being cancelled as part of these reductions,” the statement read.
That confirmation will be a big boost for gamers, particularly those who are looking forward to Ninja Theory’s Senua, Undead Labs’ State of Decay 3, or Arkane Studio’s Marvel’s Blade.
There were major concerns that the studios could be shuttered entirely, which would have likely seen the cancellation of the aforementioned titles, which would have been particularly stinging after both Senua and State of Decay 3 had only recently featured at the XBOX Games Showcase.
Murmurs of studio closures and major restructuring have spread like wildfire in recent weeks, but Monday’s major announcement should ease concerns, though it’s clear XBOX is not out of the water yet.
More layoffs before the end of the Fiscal Year have already been confirmed, and while no game cancellations were announced today, it doesn’t mean gamers are in the clear, as things could still all change.
