Can You Fix User Action Required in Escape From Tarkov? – Answered

When you booted up Escape From Tarkov earlier today, hoping to hop into a few raids in PvE, did you expect to find your player profile and progress completely wiped? Unfortunately, no, it’s not the Tarkov wipe day we were all eagerly awaiting. It’s a bug, and it’s causing a lot of headaches. So, can you fix the User Action Required in Escape From Tarkov?

What is User Action Required?

As developer Battlestate Games isn’t entirely forthcoming regarding communication surrounding bugs, errors, and other issues with Escape From Tarkov, it’s tough to nail down precisely what is causing the User Action Required message in Escape From Tarkov. The most we know is it’s a “technical failure,” but to what extent?

Over on the game’s forums, one individual seemingly connected to the studio said:

As a result of a technical failure, some of the game profile data was lost. It is not possible to restore the profiles in the short term.

All players whose profiles were affected will be awarded proportionate in-game compensation as soon as possible.

Achievements and in-game statistics were not lost as a result of the technical failure.

Unfortunately, this problem has led to numerous players reporting a total wipe. They lost everything relating to their PvP profile, including hideout upgrades, stash space, weapons, quest progress, player levels, and more. It’s all gone, and it’s not even wipe day. Heck, Escape From Tarkov PvE wasn’t supposed to wipe whatsoever, even with an update, but here we are.

Can You Fix User Action Required in Tarkov?

There is no official fix for the problem as of now. It’s plaguing many users, though the precise number remains unclear. Again, Battlestate Games isn’t overly forthcoming with such information.

That said, once again, on the game’s official forums, some users report a few fixes that have helped them get back into the game:

  • Running the game as an administrator
  • Verifying the files
  • Clearing caches and checking file integrity

Unfortunately, to those affected by the player profile wipe, no resolution will put a smile back on your face—at least not yet.

Escape From Tarkov remains one of the most complex and interesting tactical extraction shooters on the market, and it’s one many of us here at Insider Gaming enjoy in our spare time. But is it full of cheaters?
