Saber Interactive has just released a new reveal trailer for A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, which included a release window for 2024.
The new game, based on the popular A Quiet Place horror film series, will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The trailer features first-person exploration gameplay, ending with a jump scare. It also states that the footage was captured in-engine.
The trailer description says that “the road ahead is paved with sound decisions.” This play on words could simply refer to survival mechanics, or possibly that player decisions can impact the story.
Developer Stormind Games, mentioned at the beginning of the trailer, did work on the choice-driven adventure Batora: Lost Haven.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead also has an official website with further details. It confirms players will “strive for silence when hiding from, and sneaking by, horrific creatures who hunt using only sound.”
It also reveals that this will be a new story set in the universe established by A Quiet Place, rather than a direct adaptation. The plot will center on “a young survivor trying to navigate the new, eerily tranquil, post-apocalyptic landscape.”
It may also have open world elements, since players can “discover your own path through the world by observing your environment and leveraging the tools in your surroundings.”
