Fortnite is in the midst of Chapter 7, Season 3, but Epic Games continues to add new content to the fray, and Spider-Man could be set to make a return.
The current Fortnite season has seen Sprite collecting become a huge hobby for the community, who are battling to complete their collections with rare variants, and it appears that everyone’s favorite web-slinger is coming to join the party.
Spider-Man Sprite Coming to Fortnite
According to Fortnite leaker Blortzen, gameplay tags discovered in the string of the game’s code indicate that Spider-Man is making a return in the title and will receive a new Sprite.
It’s indicated that the Sprite looks set to provide an ability to swing around using Spider-Man’s web shooters, and there’s even a Spider-Man Power Hour ‘coming soon’, boosting the odds of landing a Spider-Man Sprite.
Bringing new Spider-Man content back into Fortnite makes sense with Spider-Man: Brand New Day releasing later this month, and the arrival could time up perfectly with the release of the movie.
Most interesting, however, is that it opens the door for a Marvel and DC collab to be present in Fortnite for the first time, as a new DC summer collab has already been leaked, bringing a new Batman Sprite along with it.
Usually, major collabs like this are kept apart, but as the Spider-Man collab is a smaller one, with the main focus being a Sprite, it seems a different approach has been made.
Meanwhile, the DC collab will introduce an array of new skins available to purchase in the Item Shop, and it remains to be seen whether DC-themed items will be added to the loot pool.
