Crimson Desert DLC Is Officially In Development

Pearl Abyss has outlined what the future looks like for Crimson Desert through the months of June to September, and amid a host of future title updates, DLC is officially in development.

It was just a few weeks ago when Pearl Abyss revealed that it was considering DLC for Crimson Desert, as new ways to broaden the game were being explored. Well, just a few weeks later and it’s been confirmed, so the studio must have settled on an idea to run with.

What Could Crimson Desert DLC Look Like?

Other than the DLC being in development, not much else is known about the future expansion. Pearl Abyss stated in its recent Dev Update that details cannot be shared just yet, and that we will have to wait for more news in the future, likely after they complete the new roadmap that runs through until September.

That being said, it was mentioned that the DLC will be a ‘meaningful addition to your journey,’ though that can be construed in a variety of ways. It could be a new quest line, a new area to explore, or perhaps even a new playable character; the possibilities in a game as large as Crimson Desert are practically endless.

It’s also unclear if the DLC will be a paid piece of content. It’s likely that it will be, given the distinction between it and the prior game updates, which included changes to difficulty settings and endgame content. How much it could cost depends on the size of the update, leaving even more speculation in the air.
