Fortnite has made a major change with the Save The World game mode after years of its inclusion in the game, switching to a free-to-play model, raising questions about earning free V-Bucks.
In the April 16 update, Fortnite permanently removed Ballistic and Festival Battle Stage, with Rocket Racing set to follow later this year, but any upset about those departures was eased by Save The World becoming free-to-play.
Long-time players of the mode will know all about the free V-Bucks that are available, and Insider Gaming has all the details on whether that approach has shifted.
Does Fortnite Save The World Give V-Bucks?

Fortnite’s Save The World mode does still distribute V-Bucks for completing specific missions and objectives, but only for those who own the Founder’s Pack.
Prior to April 16, Save The World in Fortnite was only accessible if you purchased the mode, which came alongside the bonus of being able to earn free V-Bucks. Now the mode is available as free-to-play, the approach has changed.

While those who own the Founder’s Pack can continue to earn V-Bucks in the same way as before, those starting the game as free-to-play won’t have the same bonuses available.
Though that may come as a disappointment for some, it isn’t too much of a surprise, as Epic Games would have essentially been handing money away.
Can You Buy The Save The World Founder’s Pack?
The Save The World Founder’s Pack is no longer available to purchase directly from Epic Games, and has been unavailable for several years.
The Founder’s Pack was essentially an early access pass to Save The World, which was discontinued in June 2020. For the past six years, it’s been unavailable to purchase directly from Epic Games.

However, the Founder’s Pack for Save The World is available to purchase on the secondary market, though the price point is rather staggering.
The cost of a Founder’s Pack for Save The World in 2026 is several hundred dollars, and the outlay is not worth it as it would take a hefty chunk of time to grind for V-Bucks to make up that expense.
