League of Legends Receives Brilliant Quality of Life Update

League of Legends has added another huge quality-of-life update, which could be a massive upgrade for many players.

Riot Games has been on a mission to make the MOBA more accessible and new player-friendly ahead of the huge ‘League Next’ update, which will overhaul the entire game next year.

The latest change is a new setting released with LoL Patch 26.7 titled “Learn Spell On Cast.”

When enabled, players can hit the key for a move their character hasn’t learned in-game yet to immediately learn it.

Usually, players would have to move their mouse to the bottom of the screen and click on the arrow of the move they want to learn or hold down Ctrl and press the key to level it.

The latter is seen as the most effective as it means you remain in full control of your character and can quickly learn or upgrade a move during a hectic team fight.

Now, Riot has made it easier for newer as less mechanically blessed players, as this new setting means players will no longer awkwardly have to hold down Ctrl.

New ‘Learn Spell On Cast’ Feature in League of Legends

This brilliant new feature is very beneficial as it rewards players for not immediately levelling new skills.

Instead, during the laning phase, players can wait to see if they need an extra damage spell or an escape tool once they hit level two in lane.

Then they can instinctively react to the scenario by casting the ability they want. Just note, the unlearned ability won’t cast on the first press.

Another thing to keep in mind with this feature is that it can also be used to put points into upgrading already learned abilities.

This means if you’re spamming abilities during a fight and level up, you may accidentally put more points into an ability than you wanted.

This is something to be cautious of during the start of ARAM matches, where you start with three skill points.

Will you be turning on this new setting? Let us know on the Insider Gaming Discord.

And in a more controversial change, Riot Games has confirmed voice chat is coming to League of Legends.
