A new Xbox Game Pass tier could be on the way. And this tier could be different than anything Microsoft has offered to subscribers of the service before.
First spotted by Twitter user redphx and reported by Windows Central, this new possible tier has the codename “Trion”. What makes it different than others, however, is the games being offered.
According to the data Redphx found, it appears to only include first-party games from Xbox Studios. The games that were found through the data mine include:
- DOOM Eternal
- Dishonored 2
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Gears 5
- Halo 5
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade
- Ori and the Blind Forest
- State of Decay 2
- The Elder Scrolls Online
New Xbox Game Pass Tiers Seem Likely
Hearing about new tiers for Xbox Game Pass shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Earlier this week, rumors started to circulate that Xbox was considering re-introducing lower-priced options for players. There are also rumors about an ad-based tier being added for Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Under new CEO Asha Sharma, the goal for Xbox is to make “future consoles and products like Game Pass more enticing” to more players. How Xbox actually achieves this, however, remains to be seen.
As with any rumor, until it’s officially announced or verified by Insider Gaming, please take everything with a grain of salt. Still, it seems more likely than not that some major changes are coming to Xbox in the near not-so-distant future. The question then becomes, will it be enough to turn things around?
