Electronic Arts used several well-known AI tools to accelerate the development of Battlefield 6.
Fast Company recently touted a list of innovative gaming companies for 2026. Nintendo, Embark Studios (makers of ARC Raiders), and Electronic Arts were included.
When discussing Electronic Arts, it is noted that a key part of developing Battlefield 6 was the Voice2Face software. This is a speech-to-animation system that converts recorded dialogue into high-quality, lip-synced facial animation. For all of the game’s cutscenes, EA reportedly used the technology for blocking animation. Additionally, 30% of the final animated speech was created using the AI software.
AI Was Also Used for Character Model Adjustments in Battlefield 6
Furthermore, the article states that Electronic Arts used FaceRig to accelerate character face creation. It’s noted that EA integrated FaceRig with Autodesk’s Maya and Flow, reducing a process that used to take approximately 2 weeks to only hours.
Battlefield does not disclose its use of AI on its Steam page, which is currently required for all games on the platform.
Battlefield has been a very successful game. In fact, EA saw a near 40% increase in its year-over-year net bookings, largely due to the success of the game at the tail end of 2025. Additionally, the game was named the best-selling title of 2025. Learn more about that here.
