Later this summer, the Esports World Cup (EWC) will host the third iteration of its $1 million (£750k) Rocket League esports tournament of which more details have now been announced.
Last year’s event was won by Karmine Corp, who defeated fellow European team Geekay Esports in the final. The French organisation will now automatically qualify for this year’s event to defend their title.

When Is The Rocket League Esports Cup 2026?
The Rocket League event of the Esports World Cup 2026 will take place from August 12 until August 16 during Week 6 of this year’s EWC.
This will be the penultimate week of the event, sharing the week with PUBG Mobile, Chess, and Rainbow Six Siege X.
Who Will Compete At the Rocket League Esports World Cup 2026?
As mentioned earlier, last year’s champions Karmine Corp automatically qualify for this year’s event. They will be joined by 15 other teams from around the world competing for a lion’s share of the lucrative $1m prize pool.
Who claims those remaining spots will be decided by the followiung criteria:
- The top 3 teams on the RLCS Europe Points Ranking
- The top 3 teams on the RLCS North America Points Ranking
- The top 3 teams on the RLCS Middle East & North Africa Points Ranking
- The top 2 teams on the RLCS South America Points Ranking
- The top team on the RLCS Oceania Ranking
- The top team on the RLCS Sub-Saharan Africa Ranking
- The top team on the RLCS Asia-Pacific Ranking
- The winner of the EWC Last Chance Qualifier+
Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Rankings are based on performances at regional Open tournaments and the international Majors with both offering points. Various iterations of such events are coming up, including the Paris Major in May.
