Gray Zone Warfare Update History
Gray Zone Warfare has undergone some major changes since emerging in April 2024. The first substantial update came in November 2024 with the introduction of Night Ops. This immense change plunged the game into an intense day-night cycle and introduced stacks of new equipment to cope with the inky darkness of Lamang.
In May 2025, Winds of War was released by MADFINGER Games, emerging as update 0.3. Therefore, it has been almost a year since the last major update hit Gray Zone Warfare.
In Winds of War, players got new weapons, ammo types, more dynamic weather, PvP-focused conflict zones, 40 new tasks, a new vendor, and much more.
But as we explained recently, none of those updates come close to the might of 0.4 – Spearhead.
What is in Gray Zone Warfare 0.4?
Gray Zone Warfare’s 0.4 update is beyond incredible. The team has dubbed it a ‘new game’ in many ways, and that’s true. It includes new onboarding mechanics, including tutorial quests and a walkthrough. There are more than 100 new tasks, 25 new points of interest to explore, fresh bosses and character models, and more storytelling elements than ever before.
That’s just scraping the surface, though. Gray Zone Warfare 0.4 also adds a string of new weapons, more customization elements, new movement mechanics (including an intense sprint mode), better and more diverse loot pools, and weapon skins.
It’s optimized, it’s evolved, and it’s amended in every way you’d hope to make it feel worthy of almost a twelve-month wait.
