OpTic Texas Secures Eight-Series Win Streak Ahead of Major II

OpTic Texas is proving to be an absolute unstoppable dynasty in the Call of Duty League at present. The squad, unsatisfied with winning back-to-back COD Champs events and the Esports World Cup, has now set its sights on securing the longest series streak in Call of Duty League history.

Last night, the four-man unit dispatched the Carolina Royal Ravens with ease, notching another win and extending an eight-series-long win streak that began as a redemption story after the team’s close loss at Major I to Paris Gentle Mates.

Can Anyone Halt OpTic Texas’ Momentum?

OpTic Texas burst in the 2026 CDL season with white-hot momentum after a stunning end to 2025’s competitive season. During Major I, the team waltzed through the upper bracket but fell to Gentle Mates in an extremely close finish – 6:4 in the final round of Search!

Not happy with that result, the team straightened up and powered through Major II’s qualifying stage with an unbelievable performance. In recent weeks, the squad has hit eight wins in a row, taking down all comers and losing just five maps out of 29. That’s a record rarely seen before in this League.

Last season, Atlanta FaZe (now FaZe Vegas) went on a phenomenal run to open the year, hitting twelve matches without a loss, which included a win at Major I in Madrid, Spain.

Before that, the team produced a thirteen-match win streak in 2024.

Toronto Ultra (now Toronto KOI) went on a burner in 2024, also going on a twelve-series streak that culminated in a trophy lift at Major I.

When these organizations go on their streaks, they go hard.

What’s insane is that, just around a year ago, OpTic Texas was on the rocks and looking worse than ever before. In qualifying matches, the team went 24 maps without a single victory before the squad snatched a single win. By numbers, it was the worst bout in CDL history for any team.

Lo and behold, roster changes were made, and the team went on to secure a spot in the history books.

At the end of March, OpTic Texas will fly to the United Kingdom, along with all the other CDL teams, to participate in Major II. It’s the first UK-based Call of Duty League event in six years, and we exclusively revealed it would be taking place last year.

Before that tournament arrives, OpTic Texas has three matches to play:

  • vs. Paris Gentle Mates
  • vs. Riyadh Falcons
  • vs. Toronto KOI

That’s a tricky trio on paper. How will OpTic Texas fare? Let us know your expectations on the Insider Gaming Discord server.
