Resident Evil Requiem Becomes Series’ Biggest Steam Launch

Resident Evil Requiem has managed to cross the Steam peak player count of all other titles in the series on release day.

The long-awaited ninth instalment of the Resident Evil series has released today, and if you are wondering about purchasing the game, here’s a guide on the prices, game editions, and more. Capcom’s new title has launched with flying colours, leaving all previous titles in the dust.

Resident Evil Requiem Hits Record Player Peak Count on Steam

The Steam player-peak numbers for Resident Evil Requiem are now available on SteamDB, and it’s now sitting at the top spot in the franchise. At the time of writing, the title has peaked at 276,509 players, which is close to 100,000 more than the game in the second spot. Requiem is followed by Resident Evil 4 at 169,191, Resident Evil Village at 106,631, Resident Evil 2 at 74,227, and Resident Evil 3, reaching an all-time peak of 60,293 players.

Resident Evil Requiem takes players back to the devastated and haunting Raccoon City. This time, you will control two characters: Grace Ashcroft, an intelligence analyst for the FBI, and one of the franchise’s beloved icons, Leon S. Kennedy. The gameplay returns to the series’ classic survival-horror roots, featuring combat, investigation, puzzles, and resource management. You can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives as you confront all the horrors that await you.

In other news, an ex-Capcom director has stated that Resident Evil Requiem leakers “deserve a thousand deaths“. Additionally, here’s a guide to help you decide between the classic and modern difficulty settings. What are your thoughts on Resident Evil Requiem becoming the series’ biggest Steam launch?
