You might think that because ARC Raiders is an extraction shooter, it’s all about looting and shooting, but you’d be surprised to find that there’s a bit more nuance to the game than that. With the recent Dam Battlegrounds Map Update, a new puzzle has been added to the game, and it’s not the first, either.
There are plenty of puzzles to find in ARC Raiders: there is the obvious Raiders Refuge button puzzle to open the cellar, and there was even the infamous music puzzle, which opened a room stacked full of Guitars and Shakers.
Well, there’s a new kid on the block now, and if you want to get your hands on some stacked loot, you’ll want to solve the Controlled Access Zone Button Puzzle in ARC Raiders.
Where To Find The Controlled Access Zone Button Puzzle In ARC Raiders
The Controlled Access Zone is a new High Value loot location found on Dam Battlegrounds. It was added alongside the Shrouded Sky update.
There are numerous ways into the Controlled Access Zone. You can enter from above, through a broken metal grate; from the side, on the ground underneath the Dam; you can even enter via the catwalk that goes underneath the entirety of the Dam, too.

Once you’re inside, you’ll find a large room with a hanging Rocketeer shrouded in vines. You’ll want to ascend the various stairways, and you’ll eventually come across a door with four lights above it—this marks the entrance to the secret loot room. How To Solve The Controlled Access Zone Button Puzzle In ARC Raiders
To solve the Controlled Access Zone Button Puzzle, you’ll need to hit four buttons that spawn randomly throughout the room at the exact same time.
Yes, that means you and three other raiders are needed to solve this puzzle. What happens once the door opens is up to you, but for now, you’ll want to play nice, as the door won’t open itself.
As for the buttons, they can spawn randomly throughout the room. There are bound to be plenty of spawn locations, but Insider Gaming has found a good few of them. Check the gallery below for an idea of where to look—it’s typically precariously balanced along some of the red pipes.
However, one of the buttons will always spawn in the same place, and that’s the one in the locked room at the top of the Controlled Access Zone. To open it, you’ll need to find a Fuel Cell, which is inserted into an access point opposite the locked room. Once it’s opened, you’ll have access to all four buttons; all that’s left to do is coordinate amongst yourselves to press them all at the same time.
And voila, the door will open—only for another step to reveal itself. Now, you’ll need to provide two randomly generated resources to fix the electrical panel. These can range from Metal Parts to Leaper Pulse Units, so it’s difficult to plan ahead. You’ll want to scavenge the local area, or load into the raid with some materials and try your luck.

Once the control panel is fixed, the loot room will finally open, and it’s officially every raider for themselves. You’ll find plenty of containers to scavenge with numerous Weapon Cases to open: Insider Gaming found some valuable Blueprints too, so who knows what you’ll find inside?
For a step-by-step process, follow the numbered guide below:
- Load into Dam Battlegrounds and head to the Controlled Access Zone.
- Try to pick up some raiders along the way; remember, you need four of you to complete the puzzle.
- Once you’re there, find the Fuel Cell and insert it into the access point to open up the locked room.
- Find all four of the buttons, and assign each one to a separate raider.
- Press each button at the same time, thus opening the first door.
- Now, scavenge for items to fix the panel.
- With that complete the door will open. It’s time to loot!
