Following some major upsets and shattered expectations, the PGL Cluj-Napoca playoffs are locked in, and the final eight teams are raring to go. Amongst the organizations still in the running are the tournament favorites, including Team Vitality and Team Falcons, and with a $625,000 prize pool to play for, all eyes are on Romania this weekend.
Of course, they’re already on the nation. It has been revealed that, in recent days, viewer counts for the PGL Cluj-Napoca have hit staggering heights, with more than half a million concurrent viewers tuning in to see the group stage action unfolding.
PGL Cluj-Napoca Playoffs Predictions are Pretty Wild
It’s a tough one to call, as there are so many top-tier and talented teams lining up for their shot at the trophy in Romania.
Here’s the opening sweep of matches for the Cluj-Napoca playoffs:
- Team Vitality vs. Aurora
- The MongolZ vs. FURIA
- MOUZ vs. Natus Vincere
- PARIVISION vs. Team Falcons
The likes of Team Vitality (of course) and Team Falcons have had a stunning tournament thus far. They’re the only two organizations in the lineup to come through the group stage without a single loss, effortlessly backing down some mighty challengers.
It was a pretty harrowing time for some teams, though.
FaZe Clan dropped out after landing in 13th place in the group stage, losing three matches in a row against Falcons, PARIVISION, and Astralis.
Esports Charts recently revealed that viewership for the group stage doubled for the PGL Cluj-Napoca tournament, which is PGL’s first major CS2 event of the year. The team at Esports Charts wrote:
PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 marks the first major Counter-Strike event of the year for PGL, bringing the series back to Cluj-Napoca with a clear surge in audience interest. The tournament’s Group Stage has delivered significant growth across all core viewership metrics, from Peak Viewers to Hours Watched, reinforcing the strength of early-season LAN events in the current CS ecosystem.
FURIA vs. Team Falcons was the gem of the bunch, hitting more than 522,000 peak concurrent viewers on the third day of the group stage. FURIA has been pulling in big-budget numbers all tournament long, and their opening playoff fixture against The MongolZ, an organization with a ferocious community behind it, could do even better.
