Resident Evil Requiem Live-Action Trailer Leans Into Sadness, Dread, and Horror

According to Entertainment Weekly, Capcom is launching a new promotion for Resident Evil Requiem, which directs fans to a live-action trailer. They have displayed a red poster featuring the phrase “Evil Has Always Had a Name” along with a QR code. Scanning the QR code takes viewers to the live-action trailer that stars Maika Monroe, known for her role in Longlegs. The story could be how Grace and Alyssa’s lives played out; however, that wasn’t specified.

The new trailer is a mix of sadness and horror, highlighting a mother-daughter dynamic that comes to a chilling end. It begins with the pair enjoying their time in Raccoon City, but everything changes when the outbreak occurs. Chaos ensues as the mother and daughter navigate through crowds, zombies, explosions, and sirens, fighting for their survival. The trailer concludes with a very tragic ending that viewers should witness for themselves, it has been embedded below:

Monroe stated in the interview, “What I loved about it was it had a lot of heart. It’s really heartbreaking, the story that you’re watching unfold. I just thought it was a really interesting and a new way to portray this video game coming out.” The Lo added, “It felt very nostalgic. The big point was going back to the ’90s, the original location of Raccoon City. And then of course, you get to the end and they’re showing visuals of the zombies, that I would then get to be a zombie. It was really quite exciting.”

In other news, the director of Resident Evil Requiem recently spoke about Leon Kennedy’s “ruthless anger“. Additionally, Nakanishi recently elaborated on the features coming with the PlayStation 5 Pro version. What are your thoughts on the Resident Evil Requiem’s live-action trailer?
