Nintendo is pouring water on the flames regarding two Nintendo GameCube classic games that were seemingly leaked for Nintendo Switch Online.
After an image shared by Walmart suggested that Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime 2 would be coming to the service, Nintendo has publicly commented on the image. In a statement first provided to IGN, Nintendo says the image included mistakes.
“We recently provided a retailer with an image of Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics titles that incorrectly included games that are not planned for release at this time,” Nintendo of America said. “The image has been removed, and we apologize for any confusion.”
The key thing to take from the statement is that the two classic games aren’t planned to be available “at this time”. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t come eventually.
Despite those two games not coming to the service right now, that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of options for players. As of publishing And, who knows, maybe more will be announced during the next Nintendo Direct.
