Cloud9 Bids Farewell to Rainbow Six Roster, Then Promptly Deletes Post

Cloud9 has sent the Rainbow Six Siege community into something of a confused frenzy after posting a farewell post on social media, bidding goodbye to its current roster. This post was swiftly deleted, but not before speculation and concern surfaced regarding the current lineup of competitors.

The message read like a full roster release, but it was removed minutes later, leaving the players and coaches themselves to tidy up the mess. For instance, Charles ‘Vivid’ Stahelek came forward to declare the post ‘confusing’ and stated it didn’t point to a full roster cut.

What’s Happening with Cloud9 in Rainbow Six?

According to the likes of Dream and Vivid, the somewhat dramatic post from Cloud9 wasn’t indicative of a wipeout. Instead, it was supposed to be a ‘thanks’ for flying the Cloud9 banner over the last year and an indication that players are free to explore other options, should such offers arise from other organizations.

In other words, Cloud9 isn’t booting the roster, but it’s giving the players room to breathe, or something to that effect.

The situation blindsided fans, and in a move that did little to settle the situation, Dream came forward and talked about salary reductions and not a full-board dismissal. It did nothing to abate the confusion in the Rainbow Six space, unfortunately.

That didn’t stop some sites, like Liquipedia, from updating listings to read as though these members had departed Cloud9.

The entire episode highlights a pretty glaring lapse in communication from Cloud9’s social media folks, if nothing else.

Recently, Cloud9 failed to qualify for the Six Invitational 2026, set to take place in the coming days in Paris, France. The organization fell out of the NA LCQ against Oxygen Esports, which went on to secure one of the final spots in the supersized tournament.
