MLB The Show 26 Release Date and Cover Athlete Revealed

A reliable source has revealed the release date and cover athlete for MLB The Show 26, with the game set to release within 2 months and a former cover star ready to make a comeback.

MLB The Show 26 was announced back in November 2025, with developers providing brief details about the title, including “delivering the most authentic on-field baseball experience.” It seems like we might be close to another announcement, as major details have already surfaced online.

MLB The Show 26 Cover Star Revealed

The official MLB The Show 26 X account (formerly Twitter) revealed a few days ago that the game will “not have a new cover athlete” in the new instalment, sparking speculation among the community. However, “new” was the keyword as a reliable source, Dealabs’ billbil-kun, that the cover star from MLB The Show 18 will be returning for this year’s iteration. The report states that New York Yankees star Aaron Judge will be the cover athlete for MLB The Show 2026.

MLB The Show 26 Release Date Revealed

That’s not all; the report also provided us with a release date for the highly anticipated title: MLB The Show 26 launches on March 17, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S; a Nintendo Switch 2 port is “uncertain” at the moment. Hopefully, an official announcement from the developers will arrive soon if the release is planned for less than 2 months.

In other news, Sony San Diego has announced MLB The Show mobile, a free-to-play baseball game that allows you to take the sport on the go.
