Former Nintendo President Joins Hasbro Board of Directors

Former President and CEO of Nintendo of America, Doug Bowser, has joined Hasbro’s board of directors.

For those unaware, it was announced back in September 2025 that Doug Bowser will retire from his position as President of Nintendo of America on December 31, 2025, with Devon Pritchard taking his place in the new year. Now, Bowser will be taking up a new position in one of the biggest toy, games, and IP companies.

Doug Bowser and Carla Vernón Join Hasbro’s Board of Directors

Announced through a new press release, Doug Bowser, the former COO and President of Nintendo of America, and Carla Vernón, the CEO of The Honest Company, have joined Hasbro’s board of directors. Before heading to Hasbro, Doug Bowser was influential in Nintendo’s growth in America, overseeing the launch of Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2 in the Americas. Bowser also helped launch the Nintendo San Francisco Store and expanded the company’s presence in Latin America by re-entering the Brazilian market, among several other contributions.

Carla Vernón, on the other hand, was influential in the strategic and financial transformation of The Honest Company, which led to strengthened operational discipline, improved profitability, and positioned Honest for long-term, sustainable growth.

Here’s what Rich Stoddart, Chair of Hasbro’s Board of Directors, had to say on Doug and Carla joining:

“We are delighted to have Doug and Carla join our seasoned and dynamic Board of Directors. “Doug and Carla bring extensive leadership experience across consumer brands and franchise management. Their expertise and guidance will be invaluable as Hasbro continues to execute its long-term innovation and growth strategy.”
