Tarkov’s Ending Has Been Changed Again, and Not Everyone is Happy

Battlestate Games has rolled out a new update for Escape from Tarkov that tweaks (again) the number of seats available on the Zubr boat, which is found at the end of the game’s final mission. This became a point of contention recently when an update made just one seat available on the boat, presenting squads of up to five players with a huge dilemma.

The team at Battlestate Games has tried to balance things, but the new mechanic still presents a chance that not every player will make it out of Tarkov alive.

It’s Not Worth Completing Tarkov With a Squad

For a while, Battlestate Games was coming under fire for making it so that only one player could successfully escape from Tarkov and complete the game after the final mission. It was seen as far too harsh, and players rebelled, so the team has made another change.

Now, teams of three or fewer will have a 100% opportunity to escape from Tarkov aboard the Zubr boat. If you have two other teammates, you no longer need to fight to determine who gets to complete the game.

However, teams of four or five players will be faced with a potential concern. It was stressed by Battlestate Games in the latest Tarkov patch notes that if there are four PMCs, there will be either three or four spots on the Zubr boat. If there’s a team of five PMCs, there will be four or five spots.

It won’t be clear how many seats are on the Zubr until you reach the Zubr. At that point, you’ll need to determine who gets left behind (read: killed).

This means it’s not entirely worth it to complete Escape from Tarkov as a four-man or five-man squad. It’s best to attempt the final mission with two friends, so that you can all end the game the right way, without being bounced back to the lobby.
